  • This web feature service was prepared under the Sectoral Plan of Natura 2000, identifying the management orientations, seeking to fit them into set of factors that affect the natural values present in each area. This service refers to the orientations of marine and coastal scope, that occurs in the Special Protection Areas.

  • The TOPOMED-FREEZE campaign was organized as a joint campaign of the TOPOMED and FREEZE projects sponsored by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) (Plate reorganization in the western Mediterranean: lithospheric causes and topographic consequences, TOPOEUROPE/0001/2007; Submarine FREshwater dischargEs: characteriZation and Evaluation study on their impact on the Algarve coastal ecosystems, PTDC/MAR/102030/2008). These two projects share complementary study areas and objectives. The first concentrates on the effects of neotectonics on the evolution of landscape and environments and the second on the investigation of Submarine Fresh-Water Discharges.

  • Within Portugal's National Biological Sampling Project (PNAB) a set of activities are conducted in the collection, management and use of biological data, collected from the registered commercial fleet in mainland Portugal (fisheries-dependent data) and several research surveys (independent fisheries data). These activities allow the assessment of the state of fishery resources, population structure, distribution and abundance of resources, diversity and dynamics of biological communities associated with the fishery resources and biological studies (growth, reproduction).This resource shows the geographic distribution of european hake abundancy index (nr. individuals/hour) registered during the DEMERSAL2008 campaign in September 2008.

  • Three-hourly forecast maps of accumulated precipitation in mm/3h in the Iberian Peninsula, generated with the AROME model at 12UTC for the next 48 hours. This visualization service includes the individual layers and also a multidimensional layer that brings all of them together.

  • Web feature service with the limits of marine and coastal biosphere reserves. The Biosphere Reserves are samples representing of marine, land or coastal ecosystems, promoting solutions to reconcile the conservation of biodiversity with its sustainable use. Internationally recognized (UNESCO Man & Biosphere Programme), designated by national governments and remaining under sovereign jurisdiction of the states where they are located. Throughout its zonation (core, buffer and transition) have to promote three functions: conservation of natural and cultural heritage, sustainable development, dissemination and knowledge. Only the core area requires legal protection and may correspond to a pre-existing protected area as a reserve or natural park. This service relates only to the marine and/or coastal biosphere reserves.
